Wirless Issues

Does anyone know how I can play on Kaillera with a wireless connection that does not lag? I use to have a direct line but since we scrapped the desktop computer and have 3 laptops now, all run on a wireless router. I'm just frustrated that I can't play any game without lagging, it makes me sad . If you have any tips or tricks please let me know. Thanks

off the top of my head I would say to either go into the router setup and make sure the transmission power is at 100% or just run ethernet from the laptop to the router just like with the desktop.

Yes that's what I would like to do. The problem is the laptop that I use is constricted to my room because it has to run off a monitor. The wireless router is in another room of the house which would mean I would have to run a REALLY long Ethernet cord to my room, which I don't have. That's why I can only use a wireless connection. That's why I can't play anymore, just hang in the lobby and be retarded.

You could make sure you are getting a good signal. What wireless card do you have? and router?

I see. If you have another router handy you can set it to be an access point.

Put the router to use as an access point in the room with you and your laptop. Set the router's ip to one in range of the main router.

So if the router connected to the cable modem or whatever that is in the other room is 10.0.0.1 and assigns IP's from 10.0.0.1 - 10.0.0.99 then you make the second router in your room (access point) IP 10.0.0.2

Then, on the access point one, you have to turn off dhcp.

Basically what this does is one router is on one side of the house and has one ssid name and the other is on the other side of the house with another name, boosting the signal and hopefully decreasing latency enough to play.

I haven't used Kaillera yet because I just got MAME but my latency is about 100-150ms. And I am on wireless.
